This yearlong historical knowledge unit teaches children about America’s holidays and why we celebrate each, utilizing kid-friendly PowerPoints, literature, posters, worksheets, and games.
This unit includes:
-Information for New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving
-Vocabulary cards - Black and white & color
-Informative posters (color & black and white) with corresponding comprehension worksheets
-Color, cut, & create booklets (2 versions so you may print back to back books)
-Worksheets including sorts, puzzles, reading comprehension, letter writing, class games, and more!

-Answer keys are provided when applicable
Standards addressed in this unit:
-Identify celebrations and national holidays as a way of remembering and honoring the heroism and achievements of the people, events, and our nation's ethnic heritage.
- Give reasons for celebrating the events or people commemorated in national holidays. On a calendar for the current year, identify the months for Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, and Independence Day.
- Understand the significance of our national holidays and the heroism and achievements of the people associated with them.
