Description
This bundle includes products that are used to teach an Introduction to American Law Class. This class is taught to students who have an interest in various facets of American Law, such as law enforcement and legal studies. My class consists of 9th-12th graders and I have received positive feedback through this site that these materials may be used with 8th graders, as well. McGraw Hill's Streetlaw: A Course in Practice Law (9th Edition) is the textbook that aligns with my course. Because I teach only a semester-long, as apposed to a year-long, course, I have chosen roughly half of the content within the book to cover. This CRIMINAL LAW UNIT Bundle includes the following products:
- Unit Overview - list of learning targets and corresponding vocabulary
- Unit Study Guide - fill-in-the-blank essay with word bank (answer key included)
- Unit Exam - matching, multiple choice, true / false (modified version for E.L.L. students or students with special needs; answer key included)
- What is Crime? Teacher Power Point (IE. substance abuse, gang)
- National Gang Data and Chicago Crime Rates Data Study (students analyze provided charts, graphs, and other data and answer questions; answer key included)
- Classes of Crimes / Types of Criminals Teacher Power Point (IE. misdemeanor, accomplice)
- Criminal Roles Student Activity (students read a scenario and use a word bank to choose which role is being described; answer key included)
- Crimes Against People Teacher Power Point (IE. assault, battery)
- Categorizing Homicides Student Activity (students read a scenario and use a word bank to choose which type of homicide is being described; answer key included)
