THIS IS A METHOD: There are no other products like these. Our products are not simply documents followed by a single question or prompt such as "Explain the historical context of...," or "What is the author's purpose for..."

We help students of all abilities craft complex responses to tasks with:

• MODIFICATIONS: Documents have been modified for greater accessibility among middle school students and struggling secondary learners. Generally speaking, document modifications may include words being defined in brackets, internet links to definitions, and rewording/paraphrasing for simplification (used as sparingly as possible). In most instances, the documents presented are excerpts from the original historical documents, often omitting words for more concise reading. Great effort has been made to break historical sources down into the smallest, most digestible portions possible.

• SCAFFOLDING: Each included CRQ presents a step-by-step, accessible writing process. Scaffolded questions are designed to elicit deep analysis and well-organized writing. Upon completion of each CRQ task, students will have crafted thoughtful and well-written paragraph responses utilizing document evidence and prior knowledge.

• ANSWER KEYS: You will find that the included answer keys are well written, logical, and detailed. You may choose to model them for your class as you work through each CRQ task.

• STUDENT HELP DOCUMENTS: You will not find this unique and valuable feature elsewhere. For each scaffolded question in each included CRQ document, students have access to additional explanation and guiding tips based on years of classroom implementation. Help documents have been designed to provide students with additional clarification as they work through each assignment, facilitating better, more independent responses.

WHAT ABOUT THE SEQ?: The products included here may also be used to teach students how to respond to Short Essay Questions as tasks for both CRQs and SEQs are the same (i.e. Historical Context/Circumstances, Point of View, Turning Point, etc.).
