Description

Looking for a way to teach the German words for common classroom items, definite articles and the alphabet while integrating the arts and decorating your classroom at the same time? Here it is!
This project can be used at all levels and ages, even with students who know little or no German. It also makes a great substitute lesson.
Instead of purchasing an expensive, high-gloss, preschool-looking generic alphabet line, have your students make their own and learn something in the process! You can also use the posters to make an alphabet book instead!
Each poster has a letter outline and a corresponding noun, including the definite article. Some letters have two or more possibilities, so you can choose your favorite or use them all! There are 47 posters total.
Students color in the letter and word, and then they draw a picture that represents the item. Once the project is assembled, you can use it to teach and review the German alphabet, definite articles, and the students can refer to their work when they need to ask for a classroom item in German!
Directions, suggestions for use, and a word list are included.
