A complete set of interactive alphabet slides for the Smartboard to teach letter name, sound and vocabulary to both young learners and ESL students.

Children will recognize and orally practice letter names, sounds and build vocabulary. They will distinguish and sort words that begin with a specified letter and words that do not.

NEW - each slide also has the correct handwriting formation for each letter and also gives the child a chance to trace the letters practicing where to start each letter and which direction to form them.

Students will build listening comprehension skills along with developing other skills such as recognizing positional words, rhymes, onsets/rimes, etc through a carefully selected set of Guiding Questions that have been successfully implemented in my classroom for the past 7 years.

Children will develop higher order thinking skills as well as improving fine motor and technology skills.

Also included are instructions on how to add your favorite letter songs onto each slide where I have already placed a circle with the letter inside of it. Due to copyright laws, I cannot add the ones I use in my class but would highly recommend you checking out Scholastic's CD entitled "Sing Along and Learn the Alphabet".

Before teaching Kindergarten I taught Music for 7 years and can attest to the great rhythms and melodies on that CD - they are catch tunes that the kids love and they are easy enough to add actions to.
