15 emergent readers are included in this number words bundle. Each emergent reader is designed so that you can copy the book, cut it in half, staple, and then it is ready for use.
Each reader ranges from 11 to 66 pages depending on whether the reader focuses on numbers 1-10 or 1-20 and whether or not more than one version is included for each reader. The readers for mittens, chicks, soccer, and popsicles are a little different with more than one version of the reader. Make sure to look at individual previews to see what you are getting. Readers for candy canes, gold coins, pumpkins, turkeys, pirates, and bugs only include numbers 1-10. The other readers include 1-20.
The readers include a title page and other pages including black and white pictures with a ten frame** at the top of each page and a sentence under the picture (example: I see one dinosaur). The mitten reader also includes some color graphics.
**The firefly reader does not include ten frames. All other readers do include ten frames from 1-10 or 1-20.
PLEASE be sure to look at the preview to see what is included in each reader. All of these readers do not include the same numbers or versions.
Students can benefit from this reader by tracking print, identifying spaces between words, identifying particular letters of the alphabet, recognizing sounds (beginning, middle, and ending) in each word, and reading sight words and grade level text. For extension activities, students could add another sentence to each page to add details. The black and white pictures allow students the opportunity to color the pictures. This reader is great for guided reading groups, homework, or literacy center activities. Most readers also include math standards with a ten frame on each page with a matching set of graphics.
