Pages 2-3 provide a before reading journal prompt, research activities on Venus, and research on the author. There are six vocabulary words provided that allow students to use context clues to figure out the meaning.
Page 4- Guided reading questions are provided for students while reading to help with reading comprehension.
Page 5 is all about Margot and characterization. Students will use direct words from the story to analyze this character.
Page 6- Plot elements. Students plot the story using a plot diagram and then explain each element on the lines provided.
Page 7- Students identify and examine the conflict of the story and also provide details from the story about the setting.
Page 8- Students identify and explain the theme of the story.
Page 9- After reading questions that require students to refer back to the text.
Pages 11-16 are all after writing activities for your students. You can assign one writing to all students or allow students to have a choice in which one they choose. The writing assignments are as follows: Point of view change up, alternate ending, interview, comic strip, informative writing brochure.
