These resources are PERFECT for guided reading at the beginning of the year or with your struggling students.

There are 25 differentiated center games that your students will LOVE to play.

Centers include:
Builder Centers-
* Math Center- Students will pick a number out of the tool belt and put the same amount of screws, bolts, or washers on a ten/twenty frame.

*Language Center- Students will “build” the alphabet using manipulatives.

Firefighter Centers-
* Language Center- Students will match rhyming words.

*Math Center-
Students will write the missing numbers on the ladders using dry erase markers.

Mail Man Centers
* Language Center- Students will open up their envelopes and read the letter inside the envelope. Students will then daub the correct letter on their worksheet.

*Math Center- Students will open up their envelopes and count the number of stamps in each envelope. Then they will write the number on the matching envelope on their worksheet.

Police Officer Centers
* Language Center- Students will put letters that are written incorrectly in jail. Students can also match letter badges together.

*Math Center- Students will go on an investigation around the room to find clues. They are looking to discover the secret number. All the cards have a sad face on them. The students will hunt around the room crossing off the number on their worksheet and then at the end they will figure out the secret number.

Baking Centers
* Language Center- Students will flip over their cookies to reveal their first sight words. They then can practice writing them in flour or sugar. {Spread a thin layer of either on a cookie sheet and have your students use their fingers to make their words.}

*Math Center- Students will race home to get a cookie in this board game. They will roll a dice and move that many spaces.

Reporter Centers
* Language Center- Students will read the clues to figure out each mystery!

*Math Center- Students will roll two dice, add them up and then cover up that magnifying glass.

Trash Collector Activity
*WHOLE GROUP ACTIVITY*
For this game I will crumple up 20 pieces of paper and throw them all over the classroom. I will pick two students to race to collect as much trash as they can. As a class we will then count how much trash each child collected and determine which number is bigger and which number is smaller. My students will build the numbers with unifix cubes.

Farmer Centers
* Language Center- My students will pick a food from their garden bag and look at the picture on it. They then will record the beginning letter on their recording sheet.

*Math Center- For this center, my students will match the vegetables together. {They will read the number word and match it to the correct number. After they have made a match, they can make the number using the ten frame and play dough.}

Doctor and Nurse Centers
* Language Center- Have your students unscramble the sentences to help them “get better.”

*Math Center- Students will work on counting dots in order to move their game piece forward.

Veterinarian Centers
* Language Center- Students will spin the spinners to see who can get to the end of the game board first.

*Math Center- Students will figure out which animal the vet was working on by figuring out the missing number.

Dentist Centers
* Language Center- Students will put the teeth in ABC Order.

*Math Center- Students will work to fill up their mouth of teeth. They will roll a die and cover the tooth with that number with a mini marshmallow. The first person to fill up all their teeth, win! {Print out duplicate game boards.}

Soldier Activity
Craft: You can make “dog tags” with your students’ names. Simply have them cut out two rectangles of gray paper and write their name on them. You can even have them write their address or phone number on their tags as well.

Crossing Guard Activity
*WHOLE GROUP ACTIVITY*
For this game our whole class will play a game of red light, green light. I will print out a large stop sign (red light) and a green and yellow circle. I will choose one student to be the crossing guard. Whichever student reaches the crossing guard first, wins!

This packet is great for anchor charts, pocket charts, bulletin boards, centers, and word work activities. You can also put the words on your word walls!

Help your students LOVE learning about community helpers! They will love the readers, magazines, centers, activities, crafts, games, and materials provided.
