Hey friends,

When I saw that Disney decided to make a movie after the Aladdin cartoon from 1992 I was more than ecstatic, and to find out that Will Smith will star in it, it was more than enough to make me count the days until the release date.

Now that you can purchase it on DVD, I thought it was only fair to have ready a thorough movie guide with a wealth of various activities that will go before, with or after the movie.

So I prepared this activity book with over 30 different activities, split into six sections – Before watching, Comprehension, Vocabulary, and Let’s dig deeper, Further Research and Extra.

The Activity Book is available in two versions – Black and White (printer friendly) and Color. And now also digital - as Google Slides.

Let’s have a look at what it’s inside.

Part 1 – Before watching: it’s a two page activity with prediction exercises and analyzing the official poster of the movie;

Part 2 – Comprehension: ten comprehension questions about the movie, a seven part comprehension activity, meant to be done during the movie (each part is to be solved after watching specific fragments of the movie that are indicated on each page), three pages on characters (Aladdin, the Vizier and Jasmine), and an arranging in chronological events page;

Part 3 – Vocabulary: Definitions page, Wordsearch and two Crossword Puzzles, all of interesting or new words encountered in or related to the movie;

Part 4 - Let’s dig deeper: Cause and effect page, Settings page, Story Map, Sequencing Events, Summarizing with SWBST, KWL Chart;

Part 5 – Further research: Brainstorming quote cards (to be cut out and used individually as essay questions or in groups to demonstrate argumentative skills), lyrics to the famous Aladdin songs – Arabian Nights, Friend Like Me, Prince Ali, A Whole New World, lyrics worksheets - Fill in the gaps (15 for each song), and writing the definitions for words), Comparing and contrasting using a Venn Diagram (1992 movie vs. 2019 movie and book/story vs. movie), Let’s Imagine Writing Activity, and Debate (Unlimited Wishes – pro or con).

Part 6 – Fact Files on Genies, Lamps and Arabian Nights, Story Teller Headbands.
