Description

Need an engaging activity to help your students research some of the most important figures in American History? This activity is perfect for you! This activity will have your students create a Google Slides presentation which can be used not only for writing standards, but also speaking and listening standards. This zip file contains 3 seperate files for use:

African American Research List (Google Doc/Word):

This list contains 40 figures who have help shape our country. The list can always be changed or altered to include anyone you feel your students need to learn more about.

Famous African American Presentation (Google Doc/Word):

This page contains writing standards for grades 3-5, a break down in the grading rubric, and the note boxes where your students will record their research. Grading can be changed to reflect your grading system.

Famous African American Presentation (Google Slide/PowerPoint):

This is the final product the students will use to present their research. The slide deck has already been set up to use as a template for your students. Presentation notes have been added to help keep your students on track. No themes or graphics have been added to allow students to customize their presentation. [Note: You will want to make sure your students DO NOT change the links on slide #2. It contains links to each of the slides in their presentation.]
