Description

Students will gain a better understanding of the Jim Crow time period of the 1920s by completing an internet-based worksheet on the Tulsa Race of 1921. The Tulsa Riot was one of the worst race riots in American history. The Tulsa Race Riot Webquest uses a great website created by the Tulsa World Newspaper. The website allows students to explore the key events of Tulsa Race Riot in a very student friendly website. The following website is used:

http://www.tulsaworld.com/app/race-riot/timeline.html

Click here to view the website

The webquest contains 60 questions and is a great way for students to learn more about American history during the 1920s. An answer sheet is included for the teacher. The webquest will take most students 30 to 50 minutes to complete. Feel free to modify this activity if needed to fit the needs of your students. I highly suggest this webquest for students in grades 7-12.
