Description

This "Move Around Math" Scavenger Hunt is great for 5th grade students working with addition of decimals and is a perfect review for classrooms and is aligned to the Common Core CC.5.NBT.7 for adding decimals. It includes 15 task card problems and a teacher's answer page.

★Turn a dull day into an exciting math adventure. Get your students up and moving with this "Move Around Math" Scavenger Hunt for 5th grade students. This Scavenger Hunt also includes a Hidden Message puzzle so students have two activities rolled into one activity.

A little bit of movement helps students focus and keeps them from sitting all day long. "Move Around Math" Scavenger Hunts and Hidden Message puzzles allow students to have fun as they solve math review problems. It creates a "working" break during class that can energize your class without losing valuable class time.

This scavenger hunt includes colorful numbered problem cards that can be printed, laminated, and cut out. The cards can be taped around the classroom, the hallway, or even outdoors during nice weather. If you really want your students to move around, you can place them in unlikely places such as underneath desks so that your students have to get down and wiggle around while practicing how to move in more interesting ways. You can also tape them to the backs of the students in your class so that they have to find each problem on a moving target. This allows for a bit more interaction.

This product comes with student worksheets as well as answer sheets for easy correcting by the teacher. I often use the first few students who solve all the problems to be the ones to correct the answers for their classmates. They can also offer guidance to classmates.
