Addition / Subtraction Word Problems Around the World

Trying to integrate cutlures into Math? Looking for a perfect lesson to teach during an observation that hits many of our teaching standards? Here are three pages of LEVELED and color coded (Set 1, lowest, Set 2, mid, Set 3 highest learners) task card word problems that hits "global and cultural awareness". Each word problem focuses on a country with facts that I researched and created first grade word problems for. These task cards not only teach about different cultures, but shows differentiation. Students can easily trade cards that are still on their level by identifying the color.

After using these task cards, have students use I-pads and a recordable/whiteboard app to explain their thinking. Then use it for reteaching students who still need help!
