These task cards were a great review for my 5th graders! It aligned with our lesson of using visual models to add and subtract decimals! I was glad to be able to use it as a "fun" activity to tie up our unit!

    Have your students practice adding and subtracting decimals with visual models and the standard algorithm with these sets of task cards. Two versions are included: a printable version and a digital version in Google Forms - perfect for distance or remote learning!

    Printable Version

    What You Get:

    • Two sets of task cards (adding and subtracting) EACH including:
    • 12 task cards
    • student recording sheet
    • answer key

    Types of questions in each set:

    • a visual model is provided and students create the matching equation
    • an equation is provided and students create a visual model to match
    • word problems are given and students will use the standard algorithm to solve.

    Digital Version

    What You Get:

    Two Google Forms (adding and subtracting) EACH including:

    • adding decimals with visual models and the standard algorithm
    • subtracting decimals with visual models and the standard algorithm

    There are 12 questions in each form.

    Types of questions in each form:

    • a visual model is provided and students create the matching equation
    • an equation is provided and students will use the standard algorithm to solve
    • word problems are given and students will use the standard algorithm to solve
