What educators are saying

This a great resource to use with the News 2 You current event if you use that program in your classroom. My students are really able to engage in the material using this template to guide them.
LOVE this resource. Seriously, we use it every week with our entire group of students. Love the 3 versions and the different options for differentiation.

Description

Do you run a differentiated, functional reading, current event class? Or do you teach a SPED morning meeting on the news? Use this no prep current event template to guide students in elementary - middle school (or special education students of any age) as they read current events! Students are instructed to read a current event, and then fill out the document with the details of the article. This activity can be reset and used weekly in a current event class - when the activity is over, all the students can "present" their article using the outline they drafted to the class!

UPDATE: THREE differentiated levels are now included, in both print & digital! Level 1 includes drag & drop & small amounts of typing (google slides), and includes a printable version as well. Level 2 & Level 3 are text based and require typing (or handwriting).

There is an included link to a suggested website for current events, however, you can switch out the link for any website you prefer.
