What educators are saying

love, love, love this resource. I'm currently using it for review but I'm looking forward to using it next year as MAP prep.
This is the perfect resource for WIN time when I have 3-5th graders in my class but they are all on the same level. Thank you!

Description

Activities Aligned to NWEA Math Skills: Number and Operations

In my district, NWEA Benchmark Assessments are given three times a year in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. This data is VALUABLE and often goes un-utilized…until NOW!

NWEA provides lots of wonderful reports! I find a lot of value in the Class Report, Class Breakdown (by goal), and the Learning Continuum (by standard).

The Learning Continuum (by standard) breaks down each domain into RIT bands and provides a list of skills and concepts for each child to work on in order to advance to the next RIT band. Teachers can use this data to modify instruction for intervention or enrichment groups!

This product provides activities for each of those skills and concepts listed in RIT bands 111-220 for the Numbers and Operations domain!

Included in each RIT band is a section divider, table of contents for ‘Understands Place Value, Counting and Cardinality,’ student cover sheet, and skills/concepts activities.

Some teachers make multiple copies of one page at a time and others make RIT band packets for students. When making RIT band packets, simply start with the student cover page (no need to include table of contents for each student) and copy/staple the entire section. Work through a page or two a day in your intervention groups!

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Count to 100 by ones and by tens.
Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
Identify whether the number of objects in one group is greater than, less than, or equal to the number of objects in another group, e.g., by using matching and counting strategies.
