Description

This resource was created in response to a student inquiry. An Aboriginal educator showed my students deer and moose leather gloves and we started a conversation about its water-repellent property (and compared it to cotton gloves - which get soggy). This connects to the Ontario Grade 1 Science curriculum and several areas of the Kindergarten curriculum.

Includes:
- curriculum links
- materials and tips
- suggested read-aloud
- 4 documentation pages for experiment using weighing objects (incl. 1 blank)
- 4 documentation pages for using observations (no weight, incl. 1 blank, Canadian and American spellings)
- 2 pages for student reflection
- pictures from my classroom
