What educators are saying

My students loved creating this amazing lap book! The scavenger hunt was great review and fun. I didn’t understand the one piece that had 4 ideas and only 3 flaps on Lincoln. I highly recommend this resource.

Description

Looking for an exciting and engaging way for students to learn all about Abraham Lincoln? Using QR code clues students discover all about his life, important work, and contributions. They will discover clues and crack the code to figure out all about this famous historical figure!

First, students scan each QR code and record the answer clues on the scavenger hunt sheet. Once all the clues have been read they use the domino code in the answers to write the missing letters and discover who they have been researching. For a challenging scavenger hunt, use the clue cards and scavenger hunt recording sheet without numbers. For a direct and easy to follow scavenger hunt, use the clue cards and scavenger hunt recording sheet with numbers.

After student discover who the mystery famous American is that they have been learning about allow them time to research more interesting facts on their own. When teaching this lesson I uncover a bin of library books all about this famous American. I also allow students to use the additional QR codes to watch some video clips about this famous American. I set up a computer station where students can view the virtual field trips. The virtual field trips found on PDF pages 31 or 33 need to be on a computer because they require Adobe Flash Player and/or JavaScript. When viewing the video clips and virtual field trips, student record new, additional facts on PDF pages 34 & 35.

After all research has been done students then create a Abraham Lincoln Lap Book to organize their facts.
