This bundle is a great way to creatively teach and assess students' knowledge of Arthropoda.
Included in this bundle that can be adapted to fit many classroom needs:
- Arthropod Classification Chart - This activity can be adapted for differentiation in a life science classroom. Arthropods can be researched or discussed to fill in the chart in order to compare distinguishing traits of the following classes of Arthropods - Crustaceans, Centipedes, Millipedes, Insects, Arachnids. Different templates are available in this download.
- Arthropod Flipbooks - Allow your students to develop deeper understanding of Arthropods using these engaging flipbooks. Includes these Classes: Insecta (insects, bugs), Chilopoda (centipedes), Diplopoda (millipedes), Arachnida (spiders, ticks, scorpions) as well as a blank template to meet your teaching needs
- Arthropod Design Project - This assignment can be used as a fun ending to a lesson on the classes of Arthropoda. Students will design a new CLASS OF ARTHROPODS, describe the traits of this new class, list the classification labels, create 4 new species that fit into this class and write a story about it.
- Arthropod Sort and Match Activity of the main Arthropod classes - This no-prep activity involves matching the different Types/Classes of Arthropods (Insecta, Arachnida, Chilopoda Centipede, Diplopoda Millipede, Crustacea) to defining traits and images.
- Arthropod Traits Sort and Match - This no-prep activity involves matching vocabulary of Arthropod Traits (Exoskeleton, Chitin, Molting, Segments, Jointed Appendages, Antennae) to images and descriptions.
- Entomologist Graphic Organizer Journal - This graphic organizer of an entomologist (arthropod or insect scientist) can be adapted for many different uses by teachers; creative writing journal entries, Scientific Method summaries, direct correlation to a textbook or biographical research.
