What educators are saying
Description
Students will be absolutely captivated by this art project, applicable both in art classes as well as general elementary classrooms pk-5. It's a great way to learn about your students - it's amazing what new facts they will exclaim while making art about themselves.
In this lesson, students create a silhouette of collaged images of things that represent them. A worksheet with suggested prompts is included, but it is optional - usually once kids get started they take off with their own ideas. This lesson involves tearing, cutting, gluing, and then mounting their work on black construction paper. These make great hallway displays!
This lesson includes step-by-step directions and clear visuals and could be taught by anyone!
