➡️ Escape From the Underwater Mermaid City Narrative Back Story: Next, students are ready to put what they have learned into action! They will begin the challenge by reading a short backstory that sets up the escape room challenge. An intrepid adventurer discovers evidence of the fabled City of Mermaids while researching in a library and embarks on a mission to find it. The adventurer discovers a treasure chest with clues to a complex puzzle that must be solved to unlock the door to an ancient underground City of Mermaids!

➡️ Argument Writing Escape Room Style Challenge: In this interactive escape-room style argument writing challenge, students must first read argumentative texts and identify the main parts of an argument. Then, they will sort quote cards into the proper categories to reveal a hidden passphrase to unlock the ancient door!

  • Use the PowerPoint presentation to guide you through each element of the argument writing lesson and activity.
