This product uses the Idiom method for realization. The concept is simple and powerful – rather than painstakingly adding each note of each chord and checking for all possible voice-leading problems, the idiom method asks students to memorize sets that are free of errors, then simply write the pre-checked idiom and fill in any gaps. The only thing you have to check are the gap-fillers and the idioms are guaranteed to be correct. Using this method, my students get 5s on the exam and have lots of time left over to double check all their work – no more stress about the time limits.

All presentations are organized into units and self-paced as ‘Class 1,’ Class 2,’ etc.

• SC1 rudiments and terminology of music: notational skills, scales, keys, intervals, chords, meter, and rhythm.
