Description

Are your students learning to read a passage or sentences with visual support? This leveled reading bundle set of adapted books supports reading comprehension, retelling a story, sequencing the order of events, and vocabulary for IEP goals related to early elementary reading skills. This set of adapted books covers all of these reading skills AND includes two levels of reading support! You may assemble two sets to include all of your students, or to support a student attending a general education setting, as well as a Speech Therapy tool to increase language and communication.

What is included:

* 6 adapted books with pictures (TWO learning levels!)

* Story picture sequencing cards

* Spelling Vocabulary Mat to increase vocabulary word knowledge

* Tracing Mat for vocabulary skills

SUGGESTED IEP GOALS:

• Given a sentence to read, STUDENT will _________ (read and choose/be read aloud by teacher), the correct picture response card to demonstrate comprehension with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.

• Given repetitive text within a short sentence and up to six picture choices, STUDENT will choose the correct picture response, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.

• Given a short story read aloud by the student and picture cards, STUDENT will sequence up to six events in the order in which they occurred to retell the story, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.

• Given up to six pictures of familiar objects containing a variety of spelling patterns (blends, double vowels, C-V-C-C), STUDENT will apply phonics skills to sound out and spell each word, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.

• Given up to six pictures of familiar objects containing a variety of spelling patterns (blends, double vowels, C-V-C-C), STUDENT will independently trace and read each word, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.

• Given repetitive short sentences to read, along with a visual representing the one variable word, STUDENT will independently match the correct picture response card, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.

• Given a short story with six clearly depicted events or objects and six picture story cards, STUDENT will place the cards in the order in which the events occurred, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
