Teachers have significant role in keeping the learning experience of the students fun and exciting. Krinzinger (2012) states that, “Teachers need to exert effort to lead children or students into a life that is large, full, stimulating and satisfying.” Sometimes students put the blame to teachers why a subject is boring. That is why the use of motivational instruction is vital in improving not only attitudes but also mathematical performance among students throughout their schooling. Newton (2015) even mentioned that teachers are instrumental in creating positive and active learning environments, such as by incorporating math puzzles and games into explanations and examples.
Thus, the purpose of this action research is to improve the level of engagement and eventually academic performance in Mathematics subject
