What educators are saying

I enjoyed the posters in this resource. The ACES strategy is written in an easy to understand way. I printed out the handouts and had the students glue it in their notebooks so the students can reference back to it.
I hang this in my special education classroom as a resource for my students when they have to use the ACE writing strategy. It helps remind them of the steps.

Description

ACES Strategy

Answer. Cite. Explain. Summarize.

Product Description

This is my go-to strategy to teach my 7th graders how to write organized responses with textual evidence! ACES represents the important pieces of a response and stands for: answer, cite, explain, and summarize. These resources will model the process and allow you to implement the strategy with ease! The instructional slideshow uses a prompt based on "The Ransom of Red Chief". Students DO NOT have to read the story to understand the structure of the response. Feel free to edit the prompt/response to suit your needs.

This Product Includes:

NEW** Google Slides option! (editable slideshow, graphic organizers, cheat sheet!)

4 colorful posters outlining ACES

14 Instructional Slides that bring students through the process (as Keynote file)

Teachers Say...

August 15, 2018- "I've tried other versions of this strategy, but I think yours is the best! The acronyms are straightforward and easy to remember, and I love that you added the explanation that the acronyms are not the only things that will be in the paragraph. Can't wait to use this!"
