ABC whole brain letter and sound identification video.

This is a video to go along with a chant my class made for letter and sound recognition. This is the whole brain approach and I saw incredible results in a week with most of my kids. This video doesn't have sound, the kids chant with a motion. Now, if one of them is struggling with a sound, I can do the hand motion and it triggers the sound. Seeing the letters pop on the board with the picture helps them with letter identification.

Chant: (Letter - word - sound 3 times)

A Alligator A...A...A (short A sound) - motion: their arms clap up and down like an alligator mouth.
B Bear B...B...B - motion: their hands are bear claws that go up and down
C Cup C..C...C (hard C sound) - motion: their hand makes a C and act like they are drinking
D Dance D...D...D - motion: they point up and down disco style
E Elephant E...E...E (short E sound) motion: they clasp their hands together and swing them like a trunk
F Fish F...F...F motion: hands clap together and sway like a fish
G Gorilla G..G..G (hard g sound) - motion: fist pound chest to the beat
H Hot H..H..H - motion - their hand fans their face as if to fan themselves
I Igloo I..I..I - motion: they hug themselves and shiver as if they are cold
J Jump J..J..J - motion: they jump to the beat
K kick K..K..K - motion: pretend they are kicking a ball
L Ladder L..L..L - motion: pretend they are climbing a ladder
M Monkey M..M..M - motion: hands scratch their head and side like a monkey
N Nail N..N..N - motion: one hand is a hammer and one is a nail and they pound the nail to the beat
O Octopus O..O..O (short O) motion: arms halfway out and hang down and fingers dangle like tentacles
P Penguin P...P...P motion like a penguin
Q Quite Qu..Qu..Qu motion: finger over their mouth as if to say shhhh
R Robot R...R...R motion: arms are out and down, stiff and move like a robot
S Sit S...S...S motion: pretend to sit 3 times to the beat
T Telephone T...T...T motion: their hand becomes a telephone to their mouth and ear
U underwear U..U...U (short U) motion: pretend to be pulling up their underwear
V victory V...V...V motion: hands clasped over their head as if they are champions
W Walk W...W...W motion: pretend to walk to the beat
X X-ray X...X...X motion: arms are X’s to the beat
