What educators are saying

This resource provided a nice and easy way to work on student objectives. Simple yet realistic pictures!
Using sentence strips/scripts has been such a game changer for me this year. The visual along with the sentence frame has been so helpful. Thank you for this resource.

Description

Are you working to develop functional communication skills with students displaying limited verbal skills? Could you use visual scripts to embed into daily schedules?

⭐️ Embedded visual scripts are essential for building functional communication. A script is a pre-stored message or pre-written phrase or sentence that provides the language that goes into a specific conversation or interaction. This product was designed to allow students with limited verbal skills to successfully communicate during daily activities within the classroom. The goal is to embed these visuals into the daily routine. This product includes 55 strips of common scripts for use as embedded schedules/scripts within the classroom daily routine/schedule.

What's Included:

✂️ To prep: Print, laminate, and cut each strip. You can choose to bind them together on a ring by category or all together. You can also choose to embed these visuals right into a student’s already created daily schedule or hang/post appropriately (ex: Post “I need a drink.” near the drinking fountain. Post “It is time to leave,” near the classroom door.)

Greeting/basic conversation visual scripts: pgs. 8-10

  • ★ 15 strips: Hi friend, nice to see you. I’m so happy to see you. Hi, friend. Bye, friend. Look (open-ended). How are you? I’m fine. How about you? Thank you. You are welcome. Yes. No. My turn. Your turn. Do you (open-ended)?

Functional phrases visual scripts: pgs. 11-12

  • ★ 10 strips: I need to go to the restroom. I need a break. I need help, please. I want (open-ended). I need a drink. It is different. This is hard. I’m feeling (open-ended choice). I don’t like that. I like that.

Token reward system visual scripts: pgs. 13-14

  • ★ 10 strips: I earned candy. I earned computer. I earned game time. I earned iPad. I earned (open-ended). I earned choice time. I earned swing. I earned break time. I earned fidgets. I’m earning stars.

Schedule visual scripts: pgs. 15-18

  • ★ 20 strips: It is time for speech. It is time for OT. It is time for PT. It is time for sensory. It is time for (open-ended). It is time to leave. It is time for class. It is time for group. It is time for work. It is time for play. It is snack time. It is time for computer. It is time for gym. It is time for music. It is time for art. It is lunch time. It is time for reading. It is time for math. It is time for recess. It is quiet time.

Friend visual scripts: pgs. 20-23

★ 4 scripts: The final 4 pages include “friend” scripts. Print and store in page protectors or laminate. Keep sheets as a whole. Use dry erase markers to add in the friend’s name and question/answer (Do you like? Are you? Have you ever? Do you have?). A friend greets the student using this script. The student is prompted to return a greeting, “Hi, friend (name).” The friend then asks the question (blue outline) and the student is prompted to respond “Yes/No” and then bounce the question back, “How about you?”
