What educators are saying
My Freshie IB classes LOVED this activity. They were so engaged that they were shocked when the bell rang!
Description
Have you read "A Quilt of a Country" by Anna Quindlen with your class and you're looking for a way to connect the text back to the students themselves?
Use this extension mini project to help build classroom community. Great for a beginning of year activity to help the students get to know one another, or a mid year activity when everyone needs to come together again.
No matter what the age of the student, creative and colorful extension activites are always welcomed.
Students will design a quilt square to create a classroom quilt in this mini project. Item is ready to print and use today!
*Especially well-suited for Florida teachers using the new 9th grade HRW "Florida Collections" textbook which features this argument as an anchor text, though it can be used with any grade that has studied this text first.*
