What educators are saying
This was a great way to introduce the book and give more background information about The Berlin Wall and what caused it to be built. Great discussions and engaging!
Great resource. I used this with my 5th grade book club. The visuals were great to use prior to reading.
Description
This is a great pre-reading presentation for the book, "A Night Divided," written by Jennifer A. Nielsen. This 17-page slide, in PDF format, gives a brief history of the aftermath of WWI, the powers in WWII, and the resulting Cold War. Finally, the Berlin wall is described as the greatest symbol of the Cold War. After showing this information and the powerful images included within it, your students will be excited to read the historical fiction novel about a girl fighting to get her family reunited after the Berlin Wall was constructed.
