Description

A Long Walk to Water by Newbery Award winning author Linda Sue Park is an incredible reading experience, one that I'd recommend to any middle school classrom! This product is a set of 24 printable writing prompt worksheets that will encourage your students to think critically and share their thoughts in a well written paragraph. A rubric for self-evaluation and teacher assessment will help both students and teachers stay on track with the writing task.

The New York Times bestseller A Long Walk to Water begins as two stories, told in alternating sections, about two eleven-year-olds in Sudan, a girl in 2008 and a boy in 1985. The girl, Nya, is fetching water from a pond that is two hours’ walk from her home: she makes two trips to the pond every day. This product is a great way to help students process the events of the book and also improve their writing/communication skills. Empathy and Academics in one?!?!? #winning
