9-10 SEL-integrated Australian Curriculum v9 HPE band plan/ four unit overview

This document provides an overview of a four unit social-emotional learning (SEL) program for grades 9-10 that is aligned to the Australian Curriculum version 9 (2023 and beyond) Personal, Social and Community strand. This program, when implemented in full or appropriately adapted, would meet the learning requirements for HPE Personal, Social and Community strand through practical SEL activities, as well as addressing crucial content from the HPE focus areas: mental health and wellbeing, food and nutrition, alcohol and other drugs, benefits of physical activity, and safety.

Please note that teaching and assessment of the Physical Education strand should be addressed separately according to your resourcing needs, specialist teacher knowledge and skillset, space availability and access to outdoor learning opportunities.

Currently, we have two of the unit plans from this program available for free in our product listings. Two lesson plans from the first unit are also available now for free use. Further development of these lesson plans, supporting resources and worksheets, and the adaptation of the scripts into video delivery for home school or relief teacher use, may be possible if there‘s enough interest.
