8th Grade Math - Scientific Notation with Positive Powers

This is a COMPREHENSIVE unit for teaching students the related 8th Grade COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS. ABSOLUTELY NO PREP REQUIRED, just download and start teaching in minutes. Students will review scientific notation and standard notation after reviewing place value and exponent notation.

Students will then be introduced to reasoning of when and why we use scientific notation in practice. Students will be presented with specific cases and then shown the specific steps to convert between the two different notations. Students will work through a few example problems and then additional practice problems.
