This year long unit guide is for 8th grade American history teachers. It is based on Indiana State Standards and the Savvas Learning textbook; American History Beginnings to 1877 Course Guide.

This guide is a google sheet resource and will be fully editable to your specific needs. There is a separate sheet for each chapter in the textbook (or unit). Each sheet lists the Indiana state standards (2023) that corelate with the chapter. On the sheet there is also the textbook's vocab, daily objects, and a spot to check off if your lesson corresponds to any Indiana social studies literacy standards.

There is space to link in your summative and formative assessment, as well as your particular projected timeframe for the unit.

Each excel sheet has been formatted extensively so it is quick and easy to sort through what key things you want to focus on for a unit. It brings all the Indiana requirements into one place so there is no need to have tons open when planning a lesson or unit.
