What educators are saying

My students are struggling with vocabulary. This was a great way to quickly practice vocabulary daily .
These make a great replacement for bell ringers! My students need to expand their vocabularies and I am hoping that consistent exposure to new words and this practice will help with that. They have been a lifesaver.

    Description

This 6th Grade Vocabulary Warm-up covers all 6 Common Core Language standards every week. Students will be exposed to 300 different words throughout the 30-week warm-up. Each warm-up provides students with the opportunity to practice Language Skills like determining meaning through context clues, grammar conventions, and practice understanding the meaning of high-level vocabulary words. Each warm-up takes less than 10 minutes a day and provides students with repeated exposure to the words each day. This warm-up provides an organic way have students interact and practice using the vocabulary words in class everyday.

    Digital Google Slides version included!

    Each Weekly Warm-up Covers:

    • 10 Matching Vocabulary words to Synonyms which provides extra practice in understanding the connotations and meaning of each vocabulary word. (CCSS Language Standard 5)
    • 2 Sentences that require the student to correct grammar conventions (spelling, capitalization, punctuation, direct quotes, compound sentences, complex sentences, and homophones). (CCSS Language Standard 1 + 2)
