What educators are saying

I have made this into a contest for each class period and also made it for each student to use in their data folder.
Could not love this resource more. I use it to track progress for class periods and for my classes as a whole. One day, I'll use them in individual data folders as well.

Description

This data tracker can be printed on cardstock, laminated, and displayed on the wall. After an assessment, the shapes are colored in based on a displayed color coded key. In my own classroom, I used:
Purple = 60% or below
Yellow = 61%-79%
Green = 80% or above

When the kids are re-assessed on this skill, the color can be wiped off and colored in again with the new level of mastery. This was a very visual way for the kids to see the growth over time.

If you have more than one class, I have displayed them vertically with the names of the classes above - this way the classes could see if they were on par with their peers. It's a good way to encourage healthy competition.

I also like this format of displaying classroom data as it does not use student names. By sharing how the class is doing as a whole, it creates a sense of purpose and empowerment without shaming.
