    RATIONALE:

    This quarter begins with studying the elements of argumentation and culminates with students writing a thesis-centered argumentative essay. Also, covers test prep. This writing task was chosen for Q2 because it less complex than an informational essay (next quarter) and will prepare students for various types of informational writing.
