5th Grade Vocabulary Explosion - Unit 2 - Daily Root Word Lessons, Activities

This "Vocabulary Explosion" program was developed to create a solid foundation of the English language in 5th grade students. The complete program includes 30 weeks of daily lessons in order for students to master the Greek and Latin base words and their many derivatives. Due to feedback and requests from many teachers I have decided to offer this same program in six week units. This digital download is Unit 2. Unit 2 includes weeks 7 - 12, along with a review, an assessment, and an answer key.

Teachers will be able to easily incorporate these 5-10 minute daily activities into their schedules. Each week, on day 1, a new root or base word is introduced. The following days, 2 - 5, students will participate in a variety of lessons and activities in order to master the new vocabulary.

At the end of this six week unit an assessment is provided to ensure the students are retaining the concepts.
