In this resource, you will find carefully chosen words that will be productive additions to your students' vocabulary. These are unfamiliar high-frequency (Tier Two) words that will help them with reading comprehension and standardized testing. I chose them based on the following criteria:
- appear often across domains in grade-level material
- appear often in grade-level standardized testing
- are "kind of known" or "unfamiliar" to students reading at grade-level
- can be described or defined by students using vocabulary they already know
- relate to concepts they understand
- relate to words they already know (shades of meaning)
