Do your students need to work on their test-taking strategies? Prep your FIFTH GRADE students for the FAST ELA or AIR assessment with this practice test. Questions are written in standardized-test format so your students will be confident when taking the real test. With this reading practice test, they’ll become familiar with paired texts for both literature and nonfiction, grammar questions, and different question formats.

About The Practice Test

The reading practice test is a total of 15 pages. There are 4 pages of fiction/literature passages and 3 pages of a nonfiction passage (including photos in the text.) The test questions are 7 pages, as well as 1 page of grammar questions.

  • Passages are written on a fifth grade reading level and includes paired texts for literature and nonfiction.
  • Passages have related topics and themes.
  • Grammar questions with short text that underlines grammar and presents questions below.
