Description
This graphic organizer is all about helping students develop strong, objective summaries that include key details. Students often struggle to organize their thinking and collect only the relevant details while summarizing. Students generally have trouble deciding what's important and may be tempted to collect too many details bloating the summary. By using this organizer, students will be guided towards searching for the 5W's or the who, what, where, when, and why while reading the non-fiction text of your choice. Using only these relevant details students will find much more success writing objective summaries.
