Description

**This product was created using SMART Notebook 11**

This is a collection of lessons created to address the 5.MD.1 common core standard for fifth grade.

The lessons include:
-I do, we do, you do model for each lesson.
-Spiral review warm-up word problems for each lesson from the 5.NBT.2, 5.NBT.3, 5.NBT.5, 5.NBT.6, and 5.NBT.7 standards.
-Guided steps for how to solve metric and customary measurement conversions from a bigger unit to a smaller unit and a smaller unit to a bigger unit.
-Word problem scenarios (with context clues vocabulary!) to solve multi-step metric and customary measurement conversions.
-Measurement conversions include: length/distance, weight/mass, liquid volume/capacity, and time.
-Discussion questions to increase rigor.
-Multiple choice exit ticket questions for each lesson.
-Free response practice problems.

There are 73 slides in this file, which should last you approximately one week. The practice problems and exit tickets at the end of each session/lesson can be used as a common assessment.

Please let me know how I can improve these for you. Thank you for your interest in my product!

Know relative sizes of measurement units within one system of units including km, m, cm; kg, g; lb, oz.; l, ml; hr, min, sec. Within a single system of measurement, express measurements in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Record measurement equivalents in a two-column table. For example, know that 1 ft is 12 times as long as 1 in. Express the length of a 4 ft snake as 48 in. Generate a conversion table for feet and inches listing the number pairs (1, 12), (2, 24), (3, 36),...
Use the four operations to solve word problems involving distances, intervals of time, liquid volumes, masses of objects, and money, including problems involving simple fractions or decimals, and problems that require expressing measurements given in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Represent measurement quantities using diagrams such as number line diagrams that feature a measurement scale.
Convert among different-sized standard measurement units within a given measurement system (e.g., convert 5 cm to 0.05 m), and use these conversions in solving multi-step, real world problems.
