What educators are saying
Description
Use these no prep worksheets to practice answering WH questions about the 50 states. Includes three levels to meet the needs of your special education classroom. Bind the pages into a book to use in your independent work stations!
Students learn about each state's region (West, Midwest, South and Northeast), capital city and nickname with these worksheets. Each page covers one state - students color the state, read a short paragraph and answer three questions. Each page follows the same format and includes the same questions for consistency!
In addition to the worksheets, I've included a simple slideshow to use with a projector. Instead of independent reading practice, you can use this as a whole group social studies lesson.
Here’s how some teachers have used these 50 states worksheets:
- 50 states unit
- Group social studies lesson and discussion
- Make a states book
- Use alongside a short video about each state
Contents:
- 52 worksheets in three levels (156 total pages)
- Level 1: multiple choice - circle the answer

⭐ Teachers like you love this resource ⭐
I have students on different levels and these work great we do a short video before the worksheet. This helps with listening skills to be able to answer the question plus the tracing for writing skills.
My students really enjoy our Social Studies time when we use this resource. They enjoy learning about different states. The powerpoint for teachers is a wonderful resource along with the student booklets. We typically watch a video about each state after we finish reading these pages.
My students loved this resource! I loved this resource because it was easy prep and it was straight forward learning. The basics were covered and it was easy for them to engage and memorize the information!
