Description
This activity is AMAZING!!! We used this in conjunction with our math unit on fractions and decimals and our literacy unit on Using Money and The Stock Exchange. It incorporates literally every discipline! **Editable!
----->Students are given a weekly budgeting scenario, where they must manage their account balance, write checks, and calculate withdrawals and deposits on a check register.
It is differentiated to accommodate higher-level learners. This accelerated activity requires multiplying whole numbers by decimals to calculate percentage based on interest rate (we included step by step and anchor charts to help). It also requires students analyzing a stock and investing in fictional stock shares to calculate dividends and stock share increases.
(we made it very scaffolded- don't worry!)
We also included a "Coupon Cruncher" Page for your students who may not be ready to complete the accelerated activity. They received coupons and must calculate their savings.
