Description

Updated 3.17.17: There are now 3 sets of 72 cards. One set is the original (based on the 2010 SOL's) with questions and answers on each card. A second set has the updated 2016 SOL objectives with questions and answers on each card (great for trivia contests or board game review in groups). A third set has the updated 2016 questions, but answers are listed on a separate answer key (great for task cards in the hallway, SCOOT, or musical review in the classroom). Each question card is numbered in this third set, and there is a student recording sheet for their answers (along with a teacher key, of course).

Are you looking for a large set of question/answer cards that review ALL 4th grade history SOL's? You've come to the right place! This set includes 72 History SOL review cards that cover 4th grade SOL's VS.2 (regions, Native Americans), VS.3 & VS.4 (Jamestown and Colonial Virginia), and VS.5 (Revolutionary War). The cards have both the question and answer on the same side. These are great for using with board games in the classroom (I have several for sale in my TPT store).

I have my students work with partners, asking each other the questions from the cards; if they answer correctly, then they can roll the die and move around the game board accordingly. There are so many other uses of these cards, though - Around the World games and Trivia Contests to name a few (I have my class work in teams of 3-4 for this and they try to answer as many questions correctly as they can in an allotted time.) The cards cover all 4th grade history SOL's and would be great for 4th grade teachers to use at the end of the year or for 5th grade teachers anytime to keep up the essential knowledge leading up the big SOL test. (I use mine with board games at the end of each 5th grade unit to review, and then with Trivia Contests in the weeks leading up to the SOL Test.) You could also print a set for struggling students to use at home with board games.

**I recommend you print the pages 2-sided on light colored card stock and then laminate / cut apart, for long-lasting cards.

Enjoy!
