Are your 3rd grade students apprehensive about taking state assessments such as FAST and AIR? Set them up for success with this practice standardized test! This test is designed like an end-of-the-year exam, so students will know what to expect during testing. With this reading practice test, they’ll become familiar with paired texts for both literature and nonfiction, grammar questions, and different question formats.

- 2 literature (prose fiction) passages
- 2 informational (nonfiction) passages
- 12 reading comprehension questions written in testing format
- 3 grammar questions written in testing format
- Complete answer key
About The Practice Test
The reading practice test is a total of 13 pages. There are 2 pages of fiction/literature passages and 4 pages of nonfiction passages (including photos in the text.) The test questions are 6 pages, as well as 1 page of grammar questions.
- Passages are written on a third grade reading level and includes paired texts for both literature and informational reading.
- Passages have related topics and themes.
- Grammar questions with short text that underlines grammar and presents questions below.
