What educators are saying

I used the math journals as warming up activities each morning with my homeschool daughter. The problems are very good ones. Love that the problems are organize by skills.

Tercer Grado Diarios de Matemáticas contains 150 problem solving tasks to develop key mathematical skills, concepts and understandings. Containing a mix of routine and non-routine problems these math journal tasks provide opportunities for students to make their own decisions about how to record their math ideas and thinking without the structure of a worksheet.  Multiple tasks for all 3rd Grade math standards (CCSS-M) are included.

  • 150 math journal tasks that will get students talking about math
  • math journal rubric in both student notebook and classroom display size

Each math journal task is provided in multiple formats:

  1. Notebook Size: Print on Avery Standard, 5160 mailing labels (30 labels per page) or print on paper and cut apart for students to paste in their journals.
  2. Task Cards: Formatted four math journal tasks to a page this size is ideal for use in a math center.
  3. Full Page Size: Ideal for displaying on your interactive whiteboard or classroom bulletin board.

Multiply one-digit whole numbers by multiples of 10 in the range 10–90 (e.g., 9 × 80, 5 × 60) using strategies based on place value and properties of operations.
Interpret products of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 5 × 7 as the total number of objects in 5 groups of 7 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a total number of objects can be expressed as 5 × 7.
Interpret whole-number quotients of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 56 ÷ 8 as the number of objects in each share when 56 objects are partitioned equally into 8 shares, or as a number of shares when 56 objects are partitioned into equal shares of 8 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a number of shares or a number of groups can be expressed as 56 ÷ 8.
