    Description

Assessment is key when students join a new class. Where are they in math and spelling? What have they forgotten since tests before the Summer break? What do I need to teach them next? How can I differentiate the same activity for all my learners? This bundle supports you to get to know where your students are now, so you can hit the ground running and support them with the 15 different resources from assessments to differentiated activities in a range of formats to support your teaching and classroom environment which will target their learning and immediate progress!

As we all know, the children work hard up until the Summer break, and then, with so much time away from school, they forget!

This bundle allows you to assess where your children are NOW! Through assessments in math and spelling, you can set targets, provide home activities and set Math Centers up to support the development of learning within your room quickly and effectively.

With this 15 product bundle, assessment and next step target setting is easy - not to mention the first few weeks of teaching:

    1. Back to School Escape Room - 10 Challenges to get to know your new students, for them to get to know one another and to set new targets for learning whilst reflecting on past successes
    2. 60 Back to School Activities - select an activity to support your students to settle back into the class room after a long break away!
    3. Assess the children their spelling knowledge using the Spelling Bee words, and then set home learning activities by copying the booklet and sending it home. A whole year's worth of resources are provided within the Spelling Bee product - Spelling is sorted for the whole year!
    4. Use the Times Tables products to assess quickly which tables the children know and which ones they don't. You can then copy the times tables activities and set them up as a Math Center and/or send them home for the children to work on the next tables in their target for learning.
    5. Flashcards for times tables
    6. Work through the 4 PowerPoints provided for the four operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Each of the presentations start off at the very easiest level and slowly progress to more complex levels of questioning. Where the children struggle, this is where they need to start their learning. This is also the point where you can start teaching the children. Grouping is easy, differentiation is sorted, and the resources are ready for you to use to move your children on. (Each of the PowerPoints also have the answers to all of the questions.)
    7. Four Operation posters can be displayed in the class to support pupils in the knowledge of language in the four operations. Simply print and display.
    8. Math vocabulary word search activity to remind the students of the language for add, subtract, multiply and divide!
    9. Other resources support the setting up on Maths Centers for the first few weeks - providing problem solving activities in math and spelling.
    10. Fidget spinner activities for math and spellings
    11. Place Value cards for 1:1, group and whole class teaching

We think that we have a product which can allow you to successfully assess the current level of your students after the long Summer break, whilst also providing you with resources to teach with for the first few weeks - saving you time, yet targeting your students with the learning they need to get back into the routine of school.

Multiply one-digit whole numbers by multiples of 10 in the range 10–90 (e.g., 9 × 80, 5 × 60) using strategies based on place value and properties of operations.
Interpret products of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 5 × 7 as the total number of objects in 5 groups of 7 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a total number of objects can be expressed as 5 × 7.
Interpret whole-number quotients of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 56 ÷ 8 as the number of objects in each share when 56 objects are partitioned equally into 8 shares, or as a number of shares when 56 objects are partitioned into equal shares of 8 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a number of shares or a number of groups can be expressed as 56 ÷ 8.
Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems in situations involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
