Description

This lab is super inexpensive and so much fun! Students construct a four sided plastic prism from transparency film to view hologram videos found on Youtube. This quick and easy activity is related to light and reflection and is a great follow up to the physics of mirrors. It’s also a great filler for one of those odd days where one glass is longer than the others or if you need to wow your supervisor.

You can make four viewers per sheet of transparency. I simply gave a call out for them at my school and got ten boxes because teachers don’t use them anymore.

This activity takes about 15 minutes to create the device and another 15 minutes or so to play with it. Students can take it home with them when they are done. You will need to be able to darken your classroom.

What you get:

• Power point to drive the activity

• Pattern sheets

• Teacher instructions

• Hands on experience

• Cooperative Learning

• Supply List

• Student handouts
