What educators are saying

This made my lessons on 3D shapes easy and engaging. The students loved all the transitions on the slides that made it fun!
I loved the visual representation of all the different parts of 3D shapes and how you compare the differences between 2D and 3D shapes. Thank you for sharing!

Description

This powerpoint serves as an introduction or review of 3D shapes.
Students will explore the concepts of faces, surfaces, edges, corners and points. Attributes of 3D shapes will be discussed, and then viewed through simple animation, which will help solidify understanding 3D characteristics. 3D shapes included are: sphere, cylinder, cone, cube, rectangular prism, and square pyramid. 2D visuals are also included for initial comparison.

Definitions of corners, edges, and points often vary between sources - the definitions found in this powerpoint are those most commonly used. Please review the slideshow before showing if you would like to make any changes to suit the needs of your curriculum.
