35 Days of Presidential Speeches Quotes Discussion Prompts Remote Learning
Description
The United States Presidents have some of the greatest speeches of all time. I love evaluating primary source materials. I created one quote per page, with the prompt to research and understand the context of the speech and the temperature of the country. Great for distance learning for Social Studies or History classes. You can use it for 1 day for all students, or 35 days for one-at-a-time, or for each student for 35 days!
You could use this as a one-time assignment for your whole class, a partner assignment a few times a year, or an individual, daily research assignment to start class with. The decisions and knowledge will be priceless from these Presidential prompts.
Then the students go on a webquest, using the quote as a guide, to find the entire speech, read it, and discuss the content and legacy of the moment and President. This is a great way to practice analysis of primary source materials and celebrate American History.
this is a 35 page resource, you could do them all as one assignment, as journals, or recurring in partners, or rotating papers! Lots of possibilities!
Perfect for History, Social Studies, or English, Language Arts.
